Marvel Unveils Captain America Statue at Comic-Con 2016

Marvel will present a four-meter statue of Captain America at Comic-con 2016. Comicbook reports citing its sources. This will mark the 75th anniversary of the popular superhero.

After the end of the festival, the bronze statue will be permanently installed in the homeland of Steve Rogers, in the New York borough of Brooklyn. "For 75 years, Captain America has served as an inspiration for generations of fans, a true symbol of the struggle for freedom and a just cause, and also personified the strength of the spirit," - said in a statement Marvel Vice President Paul Gitter.

Marvel's sketch of the statue shows Steve Rogers holding his shield high. The plinth will be carved with one of the superhero quotes, which reads: "I'm just a guy from Brooklyn." Seven hundred fifty 12-inch and one hundred 35-inch collectible copies of the statue will be sold during the Comic-con 2016 festival itself, which will be held in San Diego from July 20 to 24, 2016.
