The creator of the fantastic movie "Terminator: May the Savior Come" McG received an offer from Sony Pictures studio to shoot a new version of the fantasy movie "Masters of the Universe". The publication Deadline reports this with reference to its sources.

Recall that the universe, popular in the past, is based on the Mattel line of toys, released in 1982. The main storyline is built around Prince Adam, who has the ability to transform into a valiant warrior Jimena - the only hope of the magical kingdom of Eternia, ruled by the terrible Skeletor.

The first full-length movie on this topic was released in 1987. The role of Gimena was played by Dolph Lundgren, and the rest of the key roles are Frank Langella, Courtney Cox, Meg Foster, Christina Pickles, Billy Barty, James Tolcan and other actors. The project did not win big audience love and box office success.

Talk about Sony's readiness to shoot another version has been going on in Hollywood for years. In 2012, the movie even got a director, John M. Chu, but never went into production. The timing of work on the new movie adaptation at the time of this writing has not been specified, as well as a possible rental schedule.
