Sequel to Man of Steel canceled

Filming for the second solo Superman movie, which was to be a direct sequel to Man of Steel, has been postponed indefinitely. DenOfGeek reports this with a link to its sources of information.

As for the previously announced talks by Warner Bros. with director George Miller, who was supposedly supposed to shoot a sequel, then, according to the same sources, they were talking about a completely different project. Does this mean Warner Bros. has completely abandoned the idea of continuing a separate storyline of the Man of Steel, or it is only about a postponement, it is still unknown.

It is worth noting that unlike Superman, plans for the future on-screen fate of Batman are more definite. Warner Bros. intends to make several solo movies dedicated to the Dark Knight, in addition to crossovers, like Justice League.

Recall that the movie "Man of Steel" was released in 2013. Its production budget exceeded $ 200 million and the box office grossed $ 668 million. The title role is played by actor Henry Cavill, who will also play Superman in the March 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Whether or not the hero will appear in other DC comic book adaptations has yet to be confirmed.
