The Lone Shooters, starring Dean Haglund, Tom Braidwood and Bruce Harwood in The X-Files, will return for the upcoming six-part show The X-Files: Reloaded. Haglund announced this on his Twitter page. Let us remind you that the journalists who published the newspaper Lonely Shooter called themselves "Lonely Shooters". They were introduced in the first season of The X-Files as a sparsely funded team monitoring the US government and tracking conspiracy theories. The Riflemen had a shaky alliance with Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson). Haglund played Richard "Ringo" Langley, a computer hacker and ardent science fiction fan who was the youngest member of the iconic trio.

In 2001, a spin-off was movieed - "Lonely Shooters", the main characters of which were members of the trio. The show was canceled after thirteen episodes and ended with the death of Lone Shooters in the season 9 episode of The X-Files, titled "The Truth." Thus, it is not yet clear whether the return of the characters will be presented in the form of flashbacks or it will turn out that they survived despite the apparent death. Haglund promised more information over time.

The trio will join the stars of the original show - Duchovny, Anderson, Mitch Pillage and William B. Davis, as well as newcomers including Joel McHale, Annette Mahendru, Reese Darby, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose and Kumail Nanjiani.
