X-Men Star will become a US citizen to fight Donald Trump
Sir Patrick Stewart, known to most fans of modern cinema for his role as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie series, has applied for American citizenship. The actor himself spoke about this in the TV show The View. According to Stewart, he decided to make such radical changes in his life for the sake of a good goal - to fight the US President-elect Donald Trump. "All my friends told me that the only thing I can do in this situation is to fight and be in opposition. But not being a citizen, I cannot take part in this," he commented. Recall that Stewart is one of the most famous British theater actors, for almost three decades he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare troupe. In 2001 he was promoted to an officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in 2010 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. One of Patrick Stewart's recent movies at the time of this writing was the role of Professor X in Logan. According to the actor himself, in this movie project he returned to the image of Xavier for the last time. 2017 also sees the release of the animated movie Smileys, in which Stewart voiced one of the key characters.
