The reason for the re-movieing of some episodes of Rogue One. A Star Wars Story has been revealed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing anonymous informants, the Walt Disney management was not satisfied with the too gloomy tone of the version it presented.

The private version of Rogue is said to have been closer in style to a war drama than to a sci-fi action movie, so the reshoots should "give the project the lightness and spirit of adventure inherent in the franchise.

Also, according to unconfirmed reports, a scene with a young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, will be added to the picture. By the time of the movieing of Rogue, he had not yet been approved for the role, so the inclusion of Solo in the spin-off storyline will not only introduce the hero, but also connect the movie with future movies from this series.

The movie stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelssohn, Alan Tudik, Genevieve O'Reilly, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Alistair Petrie, Reese Ahmed and other actors. Directed by Gareth Edwards.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in December 2016.
