Dwayne Johnson will star in the remake of the fantasy movie Big Trouble in Little China. This is reported by The Wrap.

The original 1986 movie directed by John Carpenter revolves around truck driver Jack Burton, who happens to witness the kidnapping of his friend's daughter in San Francisco's Chinatown. Trying to find the girl, he learns that she was required as a victim for the rite of rejuvenation of a sorcerer who has been living on Earth for more than one hundred years. In Carpenter's movie, Kurt Russell played Burton.

Ashley Miller and Zach Stentz, who wrote X-Men: First Class, will script the next version of The Big Trouble. The director of the movie has not yet been named.

Recall that the last project at the time of this writing with Dwayne Johnson's participation was the disaster movie "San Andreas Fault", which started in North America much better than the most optimistic forecasts promised him. Also in 2015, the actor appeared in the movie "Fast and Furious 7", which became one of the highest-grossing movie projects in the history of cinema. Johnson plans a whole series of high-budget movies, including the eighth part of Fast and the Furious.
