The Shire of the Lord of the Rings will be built in Spain
The Spanish resort town of Ricon de la Victoria will openly become a place of pilgrimage for fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and their adaptations. According to EuroweeklyNews, a theme park called Shire will be built on an area of eight hectares, on the territory of which some locations of Middle-earth will be reproduced. The project budget is estimated at 1.7 million euros, about a third of this amount has been promised to be invested by the regional government. The park will be divided into several zones, each of which will offer visitors a variety of entertainment, one way or another related to the world of Middle-earth. Naturally, the most devoted fans of J.R.R. Tolkien will be able to stay overnight in several themed hotels. Note that similar parks exist in New Zealand, where the shooting of the popular Peter Jackson trilogies took place. Recall that the last movie in this series "The Hobbit 3: The Battle of the Five Armies" was released in December 2014. The picture received the lowest critical rating of all six movies dedicated to events in Middle-earth, and earned $ 951 million at the worldwide box office.
