Shia LaBeouf was invited to the Suicide Squad

Director David Ayer planned to involve formerly popular actor Shia LaBeouf in the work on the movie "Suicide Squad". The latter spoke about this in an interview with Variety. According to LaBeouf, he was destined for the role, which later went to Scott Eastwood.

In the original script that Ayer gave LaBeouf to read, this character was very different from the one that viewers eventually saw on screen. "But then Will Smith joined the project, and the script changed. The character's role was heavily cut to give Will more screen time," said the actor.

According to LaBeouf, Warner Bros. was not happy with Ayer's desire to get him to work. “I didn't think Warner Bros. was overjoyed at me. I met them and they said to me, 'No, man, you're crazy. You are, of course, a good actor, but not suitable. "It was too risky investment for them," he added.

Recall that LaBeouf starred in Ayer's war drama "Fury", as well as Scott Eastwood, who got the role. The movie "Suicide Squad" was presented to viewers in August 2016 and, despite devastating criticism, earned about $ 700 million at the worldwide box office.
