James Wan showcased Aquaman's Meru
Director James Wang posted a photo of Amber Heard as Mera on his official Twitter page. According to the caption to the picture, it was taken on the actress's first day of shooting. "Lady Mera just emerged from the sea. First day with exquisite Amber Heard," the director wrote. Recall that the heroine named Mera first appeared in DC comics in 1963. It was created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardi. In the graphic novels, she is represented as an experienced fighter with hand-to-hand combat skills and various types of melee weapons, she is also able to control large volumes of water. She was the lover and later wife of Aquaman. For the first time, Mera will appear on the screen in the movie "Justice League", which will premiere in November 2017. The James Wan movie will also star Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman. The latter got the role of the main character's mother, played by Jason Momoa. The worldwide release of Aquaman is scheduled for December 2018. At the time of this writing, it was not specified whether the project will have a direct solo continuation.
