Star Trek: Discovery acquired a ship captain (Topic)

Jason Isaacs ("Excavation") has been cast as the lead male lead in the upcoming CBS All Access digital platform series "Star Trek: Discovery." According to Deadline, the actor will play the captain of the spaceship "Discovery" Lorca. The series, which has already been postponed twice, will debut in late summer or early fall 2017.

Star Trek: Discovery will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, however the same ideology and hope for the future will continue to inspire generations of dreamers and creators of the famous sci-fi franchise.

Isaacs will join the cast of stars who have brilliantly played captains in Star Trek. Among them are William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Keith Mulgrew and Scott Bakula.

Recall that the main female role in the series is Lieutenant Commander – performed by Sonekwa Martin-Green ("The Walking Dead"). Other actors involved in the production of Alex Kurtzman, Brian Fuller and Heather Kadin include Michelle Yeoh, James Frain, Terry Serpico, Malik Pacioli, Anthony Rapp, Doug Jones, Christopher Obi, Shazad Latif and Mary Chiffo.
