Game of Thrones fans recreate Westeros in Minecraft

Fans of Game of Thrones, based on George Martin's Songs of Ice and Fire series, recreated the continent of Westeros with its varied climates, landscape details and city-states using Minecraft.

125 "builders" are involved in the project called Westeroscraft. They have at their disposal not only standard game blocks and textures, but also dozens of elements created specifically for Westeroscraft. According to one of the project managers, Jacob Granberry, by early January 2015, the grand construction was about 70 percent complete.

As a reminder, Game of Thrones returns with a fifth season on HBO on April 12, 2015. the final two episodes of the previous season, season four, will be available on IMAX theaters in the United States for a week starting January 29. During the sessions, a trailer for the show's fifth season will be shown for the first time.

The series is one of the contenders for the "KinoNews 2015" award, which will be presented for the first time in the nominations of television projects.
