The Dark Knight Batpod will be up for sale
One of the Batpods featured in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight movies will be auctioned off the PropStore. The organizers of the auction expect to bail out from 80 to 100 thousand dollars for an invaluable vehicle for all fans of the superhero. The prototype was created by designer Nathan Crowley and special effects specialist Chris Corbald. A total of six Batpods were constructed for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight 2: The Legend Rises. The organizers of the auction clarify that the model put up for sale has minor injuries that it received during movieing, in particular, during one of the falls, the attachment of the left barrel of an automatic cannon made of plastic was scratched. Before starting the Batpod, the buyer will have to refill the systems with all the fluids that were drained after movieing, install new throttle controls, a new fuel tank and battery. Otherwise, the Batpod, powered by a Honda 750 engine and 31-inch Hoosier wheels, is fully functional. The auction will take place on September 27, 2016 at the ODEON BFI IMAX Film Center in London.
