The third season of the globally popular political drama House of Cards has set pirate download records in countries where Netflix does not yet sell its video service. According to Variety, citing Excipio, the third season of the series was downloaded over 681,000 times within the first 24 hours since the show was released on Netflix on February 27, 2015. This figure is twice as much as last year, when in February 2014 the second season was downloaded 321 thousand times.

The first five places in the top ten countries that downloaded the third season of House of Cards via pirate torrents are occupied by China , India, Australia, Poland and Greece. Netflix is not yet selling its subscription in these territories.

In terms of worldwide downloads, then the first ten territories are as follows: China (60.528 times), USA (50.008 times), India (47.106 times), Australia (40.557 times), Poland (37.552 times), Great Britain (32.703 times), Canada (27.584 times), France (27,151 times), Greece (20,551 times) and the Netherlands (20,402 times).
