World War Z Director to Film Epidemic TV Series for NBC

NBC has commissioned an as-yet-unnamed series to be produced by Academy Award-winning Graham Moore (The Imitation Game) and Mark Forster (World War Z). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ten-episode drama will be produced by Endemol Shine Studios.

The events in the series begin with a woman exhibiting mysterious symptoms, and she and her entire environment turns out to be at the center of an epidemic with global implications. Meanwhile, in another part of the world, an FBI agent is investigating a seemingly unrelated terrorist attack that drives him to the brink of insanity. The drama will offer a candid look at the consequences of the disaster on the characters, bringing out their best and worst human qualities.

Moore, who is the author of the idea, will write the script and share the functions of executive producer with Forster, who is the director. Also among the executive producers – who worked with Moore on The Imitation Game, Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowski, and Gillian Coogler from World War Z.

The Moore and Forster television project is the tenth drama series commissioned by NBC for the 2015-2016 season. although at the moment the exact time of the premiere is not known.
