"Oscar" by Leonardo DiCaprio was long-awaited not only for the actor himself, but also for millions of his fans around the world who followed the events of the Academy Awards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latter's activity secured an all-time record for the number of Oscar-related comments on Twitter.

From the moment the results of the voting for the "Best Actor" category were announced, the number of "tweets" on this matter exceeded 440 thousand per minute. Thus, the previous record, set in 2014, when the show host Ellen DeGeneres took "selfies" with a group of Hollywood stars, has almost doubled.

Note that the ignorance of Leonardo DiCaprio's efforts by the American Film Academy has long been a topic of discussion in the media and social networks, so the next attempt by the actor to gain recognition attracts increased attention of movie fans.

Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Oscar for his work in The Survivor, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. A complete list of the 2016 Oscar nominees and winners in each category is available in the dedicated section of the Cinema News portal.
