Johnny Depp to star in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts

Studio does not specify exactly what role he was asked to play, but, most likely, we are talking about some key character that is significant for the entire cycle. Potter fans suggest that Depp was asked to play the role of the magician Gellert Grindelwalt, who was considered the most powerful dark wizard before the appearance of Voldemort. According to Potterian mythology, he was born in the late 19th century and trained in Durmstranga.
