Frances Conroy to star in the drama The Mist
Spike TV has found a female lead in the mystery TV series "Haze", based on the acclaimed Stephen King novel "The Mist" and the 2007 feature movie "Haze". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first actress to star in the ten-episode drama was Frances Conroy, best known for her roles in four seasons of the American Horror Story anthology. The series will tell a chilling story about the fog that swallowed up a small town and sowed chaos and panic in it. Conroy will play a character named Natalie, who is committed to preserving the environment. She feels nature better than most people, but her instincts for human relations are asleep. Christian Thorpe ("Rita") has been appointed writer and executive producer of the series, which the Dimension Television studio will begin production this summer. It is slated to premiere in 2017.
