Electronic Arts and DICE have announced that the events from Episode 7 of Star Wars will not be featured in the Star Wars: Battlefront DLC. This is reported by the Gamespot edition. At the time of writing, there have been many discussions about the content of the add-ons, all based on the fourth, fifth and sixth episodes of the saga.

In support of this, an announcement was made on Twitter: "Our team is focusing on the original trilogy." At the end of 2015, the Battle of Jakku DLC was released, which took place on the planet from The Force Awakens, but many years after the events of Episode 7.

Four more Star Wars: Battlefront Expansions have been announced previously, with the first to premiere in 2016. Together they will contain:

1. More than 20 new items, including weapons, vehicles, cards with perks (for the Rebels and the Empire)

2. Four heroes and villains (no names were given)

3. 16 multiplayer maps that open up new locations

4. Four new game modes

As a reminder, DICE has made the decision to allow players to enjoy new content for free and download things such as new locations and perk maps.
