20th Century Fox Changed Martian Premiere Date

20th Century Fox has changed the date for the premiere of the sci-fi movie The Martian. According to the official press release, instead of November 25, the picture will be presented to viewers on October 2, 2015.

What is the reason for the revision of the rolling schedule is not specified. It is possible that the creators of "The Martian" simply did not want to compete with Pixar's animated movie "Respectable Dinosaur", which will also be released on November 25, 2015.

On the other hand, the new rivals of the movie will be the action movie "The Fall of London" and the drama "The Walk", the premieres of which are announced on October 2, 2015. Moreover, now the "Martian" has to share the IMAX screens with the "Walk".

Recall that in the movie based on the work of Andy Weir, which was published electronically in 2012, the main roles were played by Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Sebastian Stan, Mackenzie Davis, Sean Bean, Michael Pena, Donald Glover and Matt Damon. The action takes place on Mars, where an astronaut remains completely alone, whom his colleagues on the expedition considered dead during a storm. In USA, the "Martian" was supposed to start on December 3, 2015. The new date has not yet been announced.
