Quentin Tarantino has prepared two versions of his "The Hateful Eight" western. One of them, according to Variety, will be shown during a promo tour, which starts two weeks before the official premiere.

According to the director himself, the timing of the promotional version, which will be shown in the Panavision 70mm format, will be three hours and two minutes. The version that viewers will later see at the box office will be shorter. Tarantino stressed that by providing viewers with the opportunity to see a longer version of The Hateful Eight, he is in no way seeking to damage future multiplex distributions. He changed some of the scenes to make the project as a whole suit different views.

Recall that Channing Tatum, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Jason Lee, Tim Roth, Zoe Bell, Michael Madsen, Demian Bishir, Bruce Dern and other popular Hollywood actors played key roles in the western. To reliably convey the style of classic Westerns of the 50s and 60s, Tarantino used Ultra Panavision 70 cameras for movieing the movie, which allow to obtain an ultra-wide format image, popular in the middle of the last century.
