Naomi Watts and Tom Sizemore to star in Twin Peaks

Naomi Watts ("The Ring") and Tom Sizemore ("Saving Private Ryan") have joined the cast of the revived Twin Peaks series, which will debut on Showtime in 2017 as a limited-episode show. This is reported by the publication Deadline with reference to its sources.

Watts, starring in the title role in David Lynch's 2001 hit "Mulholland Drive", first declared herself as a star. The actress later co-starred with the director in Empire Inland.

Watts and Sizemore joined other actors whose participation in the series was not officially confirmed. Among them – Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty and Lynch himself, who is rumored to be will reprise his role as Regional FBI Chief Gordon Cole from the original show.

The screenplay for Twin Peaks, which is in production at the time of writing, was written by creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost. Lynch will direct all 18 episodes in person. With the project shrouded in mystery, fans can only hope that familiar characters will appear, led by FBI agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle McLachlan, the only actor officially confirmed to be involved. Other original cast members you can expect to see include Sherilyn Fenn, Miguel Ferrer and Sherrill Lee.

Watts recently finished starring in Colin Trevorrow's "The Book of Henry" her participation, which will be released on the screens – Divergent Chapter 3: Behind the Wall. As for Sizemore, he can be seen in the action movie USS Indianapolis: Courageous Men.
