The reason for the absence of the famous designer and creator of the game "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" Hideo Kojima has become known at the ceremony of the "The Game Awards 2015". According to GameTyrant, Konami's legal department has issued an official warning to Kojima that they are not eligible to receive the award. Moreover, the author of the popular series was not recommended at all to appear at the ceremony.

As a reminder, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" was awarded two awards at once: it won the category "Best Adventure Game" and "Best Soundtrack". On behalf of Kojima, the trophy was received by the actor Kiefer Sutherland, who voiced the main character - the Snake. Note that the news that Kojima was not allowed to receive the award caused a strong protest from the audience present at the show.

The conflict between Konami and Kojima Productions became known back in early 2015. It was not specified, but it was announced that Kojima will stop working with Konami after the release of the game "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" in September 2015.

Konami later closed several projects that Kojima oversaw, including "Silent Hills", which was created with the participation of Guillermo Del Toro and actor Norman Reedus.
