American viewers will have a chance to see an expanded version of Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy on the big screens. According to The One Ring, all three movies will be released in limited release in October 2015.

The screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit 3: The Battle of the Five Armies are said to be preceded by a special address written by the director. It was not specified whether any of the actors who played in The Hobbit will participate in the action. The movies will be screened at Celebration Cinema and AMC. It is not yet specified whether other large theater networks will join the action.

Recall that the first part of the trilogy was released in December 2012, and the last - in December 2014. Worldwide box office receipts have been steadily declining for each episode. So, if the first movie earned more than one billion dollars in the world box office, the last one - 955 million dollars. Battle of the Five Armies also received the lowest critical ratings. The final part of the trilogy took only fifth place in the list of "Best Films of the Year" by the "Cinema News" portal.

The Hobbit stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, Graham McTavish, William Kircher, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter, Dean O'Gorman, Aidan Turner and other actors.
