AMC has extended the post-apocalyptic action movie "In the Desert of Death" for a second season. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar's adventure series, commissioned for production in 2014, will return to AMC with ten new episodes no earlier than 2017.

Drama with a large-scale advertising campaign showed the third best start on the cable channel in 2015. Taking into account views three days after the broadcast, the premiere episode attracted 8.2 million viewers, of which 5.1 million belong to the group of viewers aged 18 to 49, important for advertisers. The first and second places in the AMC premiere rating are the series "Fear the Walking Dead" and "Better Call Saul". On average, the first season "In the Desert of Death" consisted of six episodes, collected 5.6 million viewers, of which 3.4 million – viewers under 50, and 3.5 million – from 25 to 54 years old. However, the finale of the new series, which coincided in time with the Sunday Night Football games and the Miss Universe contest, showed very modest performance - 2.2 million viewers, of which 1.1 million belonged to audiences under 50.
