Replacement of the leading actor in the possible sequels of the series dedicated to the famous archaeologist and hunter of biblical artifacts Indiana Jones is impossible. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Screen Daily by the creator of the series, Steven Spileberg.

"I don't think anyone can replace Harrison in the role of Indy. I also have no idea that this will ever happen. In any case, I will never go to replace the actor, as it was done in the movies, say , about Spider-Man or Batman. There will only be one actor to play Indiana Jones, and that is Harrison Ford, "the director said.

Recall that previously there have been numerous rumors about the readiness of Lucasmovie studio to attract another actor or even restart the franchise. It has been argued that Chris Pratt is being considered as a possible successor to Ford. Studio officials and producers from the first four movies did not comment on these assumptions.

Steven Spielberg himself said that he would try to shoot a fifth of Indiana Jones before "Harrison Ford turns 80," and he himself "becomes too old for such projects."

According to some reports, the next return of Mr. Henry Jones Jr. on screens may take place in 2018.
