Ridley Scott will direct a movie about the Battle of Britain
Ridley Scott continues to expand the list of his promising directorial projects. According to The Wrap, another on this list will be a movie dedicated to the so-called Battle of Britain. This is a battle that took place mainly in the air during World War II, which lasted from mid-July to late October 1940 of the year. The term itself was proposed by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who thus characterized the attempt of Nazi Germany to achieve complete air superiority and, as a result, to break the resistance of the British. During stubborn battles, the Royal Air Force managed to prevent destruction critical infrastructure, the destruction of the country's industrial areas and, in fact, the destruction of the air force itself, which made the landing operation planned by the Third Reich unpromising. In total, about 40 thousand civilians died during the Battle of Britain. This was the first major defeat of the German military machine in World War II. The timing of work on this movie project at the time of this writing was not specified. The movie, which FOX agreed to finance, will be scripted by Matthew Orton.
