Walt Disney Pictures intends to movie a sequel to its acclaimed 1964 musical "Mary Poppins". According to Variety, the movie has already been directed by Rob Marshall, who has directed movies for the studio such as Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides and Into the Woods.

Recall that the action of the original tape, in which the main roles were played by Julie Andrews, Glynis Jones, Ed Wynn, Hermione Baddeley, Elsa Lanchester, Dick Van Dyke, and other actors, took place in 1910.
