Stephen Moyer to lead X-Men action pilot
True Blood star Steven Moyer has been cast as the pilot of an as-yet-untitled action-adventure based on the Marvel X-Men comics. This is reported by the publication Deadline. The pilot, which will be shot by Matt Nyx Brian Singer, tells the story of two ordinary parents who discover that their children have mutant powers. Forced to hide from a hostile government, family members team up with an underground network of mutants and must fight for their survival. Moyer will play his father, Reed, an ambitious lawyer trying to balance office responsibilities with family responsibilities. The actor has joined the previously approved Blair Redford ("They were confused in the hospital") and Jamie Chung ("Suicide"). Knicks, Singer, Lauren Schuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeff Loeb and James Chory share the executive producing responsibilities of the potential Fox series. The co-production will be co-produced by 20th TV and Marvel Television. Co-pilot Nyx Moyer will continue to collaborate with Fox and 20th TV, where he co-starred in the upcoming miniseries Firestrel. Moyer also recently completed work as a director on The Parting Glass. in which he has co-starred in the upcoming miniseries "Fireball".
