Dwayne Johnson to play Superman's predecessor

Dwayne Johnson will star in the movie about the adventures of Clark "Doc" Savage, to be directed by Shane Black. This information was confirmed by the actor himself, having posted the corresponding announcement on his Facebook page.

"All comic book fans probably know that the first superhero (even before Superman) was the Man of Bronze Doc Savage. I want to thank my director friend Shane Black and his writing team, Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, who flew to me from Los -Angeles to discuss the details of this very cool project, "he wrote.

Recall that this Doc Savage, invented by publisher Henry Ralston and editor John Nanovich, was the protagonist of a large number of science fiction stories published in the 30s and 40s of the last century. He possessed outstanding physical parameters and IQ, and his distinctive feature was bronze skin color. Doc was an adventurer and hero who saved the world from various forms of evil.

During its long history, he became a hero not only of literary works, but also of comics, radio plays, animation and fiction movies. The timing of work on a new project dedicated to Doc Savage has not yet been specified.
