In Moscow, at the age of 89, People's Artist of the USSR Alexei Batalov died. The famous actor died in one of the capital's clinics, in which he was being treated after he broke his hip neck in February 2017.

Alexey Batalov was born in 1928 in Vladimir. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School in 1950, and in the same year he entered the service in the theater of the Soviet Army. Batalov's debut in cinema took place back in 1944 in the movie "Zoya", in which they played a cameo role. Real success and all-Union fame came to the artist after participating in the movie "Big Family", in which he played one of the key roles.

Alexei Batalov played in many movies that are now considered classics of Soviet cinema. Among his works are roles in such productions as The Rumyantsev Case, "The Cranes Are Flying", "My Dear Man", "Nine Days of One Year", "Running", "The Star of Captivating Happiness", "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" and many others.
