The number of episodes in the fourth season of the Vikings reaches twenty
History Channel has ordered an additional four episodes for the upcoming fourth season of the Vikings drama series. Thus, the total number of episodes will reach twenty, and the season itself will be divided into two equal parts. The first ten episodes will air over ten weeks on Thursdays starting February 18, 2016. The remaining ten will be released later that year. This is reported by the publication Deadline. The third season of the series, created by Michael Hirst, ended with a battle in Paris. The troops, led by Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), are victorious, but Ragnar returns to the Kattegat, mortally ill. In the new season, new actors will join the cast of "Vikings", including Peter Franzen ("Gunmen") and Jasper Paakkonen ("Heart of the Lion"), and also Diane Doan ("Once Upon a Time"). Franzen will play King Harald the Fair-haired; Paakkonen will play the role of his younger brother, Halfdan the Black; and Doan will portray Yayda. The Vikings family saga tells amazing stories about the life and epic adventures of warriors and discoverers who lived in the Middle Ages. The Vikings are co-produced by the Irish and Canadian studios World 2000 and Take 5 Productions, respectively.
