In Moscow, at the age of 73, the popular Soviet and USA actor Georgy Taratorkin died. This was reported on the official website of the Mossovet Theater, in which the artist served. Taratorkin is said to have died after a long illness.

Georgy Taatorkin was born in Leningrad. In 1966 he graduated from the drama school at the Leningrad Youth Theater, where he began his acting career. Already in 1968, Taratorkin made his movie debut, and a year later, the all-Union fame literally fell on the actor after the release of the movie "Crime and Punishment", in which he played Rodion Raskolnikov. In the mid-70s, Georgy Taratorkin went to work at the Mossovet Theater, where he served until the end of his days.

Georgy Taratorkin starred in such popular domestic movies as "Purely English Murder", "Little Tragedies", "The Rich Man, the Poor Man", "Moonlight Rainbow" and many others. Among other things, Taratorkin was considered one of the best poetry readers of the Silver Age poets.

Awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, the Order of the Badge of Honor and other state and professional awards. Since 1996 he was the first secretary of the Union of Theater Workers of USA. He taught acting at VGIK.
