The Hollywood movie studio Relativity Media, whose management promised to build a new type of media company, filed for bankruptcy and asked the state for help in restructuring its debts. This is reported by the Variety edition with reference to the official press release.

The movie and television business of the company will be auctioned after the procedures are agreed with creditors. Trades must be supervised by a special bankruptcy court. Joint ventures Relativity Sports; Relativity EuropaCorp Distribution and Relativity Education created with European partners will continue to operate as independent companies. Preliminary bankruptcy hearings are scheduled for July 31, 2015.

Among the movie projects released by Relativity Media studio were such popular movies as "Areas of Darkness" (box office $ 161 million), "Movie 43" (box office $ 32 million), Time of the Witches (box office 91 million dollars) and others. The most successful movie from the studio's library was the War of the Gods: Immortals, based on ancient Greek myths, which earned more than $ 200 million at the worldwide box office. In 2015 and 2016, the premieres of the remaining two pictures of the studio are to take place.
