Cable Channel Cinemax has begun development of the drama series "Warrior", which will be based on drafts by legendary martial artist and actor Bruce Lee ("Entering the Dragon"). Justin Lin (Fast and Furious 6) has been appointed to direct the potential pilot for the script by Jonathan Tropper ("Banshee"). This is reported by Deadline.

"Warrior" is described as a crime drama that traces the path of a gifted but morally corrupt fighter in a crisis after his multi-year plan of revenge is thwarted. It is the first project for Perfect Storm Entertainment's television arm, Lin's joint venture with Bruno Wu's Seven Stars Studios. A few months after Perfect Storm Entertainment launched in 2013, the company teamed up with Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, and Bruce Lee Enterprises to create a TV series based on Lee's material.

"Warrior" was a dream project that Bruce Lee had been working on for many years, but never published. nor transfer to the screen. Years after Lee's unexpected death in 1973, his daughter discovered a large collection of Lee's handwritten drafts, which contained the concept for the series. It formed the basis for the idea of the upcoming TV project, which Perfect Storm Entertainment and Shannon Lee turned to Cinemax.

Lin is already collaborating with sister channel HBO, movieing the first two episodes for the second season of True Detective. Lin's other work on television – pilot of the CBS drama "Scorpio".
