Microsoft and Universal are movieing Gears of War
Microsoft and Universal intend to movie the events of the popular third-person shooter "Gears of War". According to Variety, this was announced during the online broadcast of the presentation of "Gears of War 4". Producer Scott Stuber will oversee the process of making a movie based on the game, in whose assets such projects as "The Third Extra" and "Sea Battle" and his colleague Dylan Clark, who worked on Rise of the Planet of the Apes and its sequels. At the time of this writing, it was not specified whether the movie adaptation will follow the main storyline of the game, which tells the story of the soldier Marcus Phoenix, who protects the settlers on the planet Sera from the underground enemy - the Locust Horde, or whether the moviemakers will offer viewers a different story. The timing of the project is still unknown. As a reminder, the game was created by Epic Games and released for Xbox 360 consoles in 2006. The success of the shooter predetermined the appearance of several sequels. Gears of War 4 will be released in mid-October 2016. Note that attempts to movie adaptation were made earlier. So, in 2010, the studio New Line announced its intention to make a movie based on the game, but in 2012 it abandoned this idea.
