BBC will movie seven works by Agatha Christie (Topic)

The BBC, inspired by the success of the Agatha Christie-directed miniseries "And There Was No One," which debuted in December 2015, commissioned seven new shows based on the writer's books. Agatha Christie Productions will be responsible for the production of TV projects for the channel over the next four years. This is reported by the Variety edition.

The first TV adaptation will be the novel "Trial of Innocence", written in 1957. This psychological detective Christie considered one of her favorites. As with And There Was No One, Sarah Phelps will be scripting.

Among the other books approved at the time of this writing, which will be adapted for TV, the historical novel Death Comes at the End (1945) , as well as the novel Murders Alphabetically (1936), in which the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot hunts down a serial killer throughout Britain.

Recall that Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Productions are currently movieing a two-part television movie based on Christie's short story The Prosecution Witness (1925). The main roles are played by Toby Jones, Andrea Riseborough and Kim Cattrall. Based on the same work, 20th Century Fox, starring Ben Affleck and in the director's chair, will direct a feature movie.
