Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that the release date for "Batman: Return to Arkham" is now unknown. According to Gamespot, the project was originally scheduled to premiere on July 26, 2016.

The delay will be needed to give Virtuos more time to remaster Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, according to a WB Games official posting.

"We have abandoned the previously announced schedule and will announce a new release date when we are confident that the game is fully ready," the official statement said.

Note that after a series of leaks, the game was announced in May 2016. According to some reports, along with the base game, users will receive some extensions "Game of the Year" and additional downloadable content. Warner Bros. claims players can expect improved graphics, modernized lighting, environments and more.

Despite the fact that the original games were made on the Unreal Engine 3, the developers are using Unreal Engine 4 to work on "Batman: Return to Arkham", which will significantly affect the quality of the rendering.

As a reminder, Virtuous previously worked on the "Heavy Rain" edition for the PlayStation 4 and contributed to the creation of the "Uncharted 4" game.
