The creators of the popular animated series The Simpsons predicted Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election sixteen years before it became a reality. In one of the episodes, titled "Bart in the Future," the first woman president, Lisa Simpson, had to deal with the aftermath of a deep crisis in which the country found itself during the reign of the previous head of the White House, Trump.

Recall that the US presidential election was held on November 8, 2016. The Republican candidate, billionaire Donald Trump, won a landslide victory with 279 electoral votes against the required 270. His rival Hillary Clinton, who could become the first woman president of the United States, managed to enlist the support of only 218 electors. The election results must be approved by Congress. The 45th US President will officially take office on January 20, 2017.

It is noteworthy that during his life Trump changed his political preferences several times. So, from 2001 to 2009, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

Note that the election caused a mixed reaction among famous moviemakers. Some, like Brian Cranston, have promised to emigrate if Trump wins. Others stated their disappointment.
