Production of DeLorean cars, familiar to all fans of the "Back to the Future" trilogy, will be resumed. This is reported by the resource Click2Houston with reference to the current owner of the trademark Stephen Wyne.

"This is just fantastic. The moment of truth has come for us. We've been waiting for this for so long. Now all the formalities have been settled to start production. Previously, we did not have the right to do this. We would have broken the law by releasing such cars earlier. This means a lot to us. We are once again becoming an automotive concern, "- said in the commentary Wyne.

Recall that DeLorean Motor Company filed for bankruptcy in 1982. In total, about 9000 cars were produced, about 6000 units have survived to this day. Stephen Wyne has been restoring DeLorean vehicles since 1987, and in 1997 he acquired all of the remaining parts, blueprints and other inventory. After a lengthy legal battle with the widow of car designer John DeLorean, he also managed to become the owner of all rights to the trademark and logo.

The first batch of the legendary cars is expected to be presented to potential buyers in 2017. Each DeLorean will cost less than $ 100,000.
