The director of the Batman solo movie, Matt Reeves, completely abandoned the script for the movie, which Ben Affleck and DC Films head Jeff Jones worked on for many years. According to the Comic Book edition, the director spoke about this in an interview with MTV. "It will be a completely different story. We are all starting over. I am optimistic about the future," he said.

Recall that, according to Affleck and Jones, the main villain of the movie was to be Deathstroke. Warner Bros. Studio even managed to hire actor Joe Manganiello, who was entrusted with this role. Whether this character will remain in Reeves' movie is still unknown. The actor himself claimed in an interview that he was no longer sure of his participation.

Ben Affleck and Jeff Jones worked on the script for the solo movie all the time while the first was listed as its director. In January 2017, it became known about Affleck's refusal from the director's post. Then it became known that the studio instructed Chris Terrio to adjust the already finished script. But, probably, it was no longer possible to fix it.

At the time of this writing, even the approximate start date of movieing and a possible distribution schedule for the Batman movie was not named. Most likely, it will not be released until 2019.
