A movie based on the game Thief
Straight Up Films has acquired the rights to movie the events of Square Enix's hit Thief series. This is reported by the Comingsoon edition. Screenwriter Simon Boyes, who previously worked on "Worse Than Lies", will adapt the game's plot for the screen. Recall that the first stealth first-person action game was introduced in 1998. The action takes place in a steampunk world with fantasy elements. The main character is a professional thief named Garrett, who trades in a city without a name, whose life is controlled by several religious groups. The latter differ in their cults and the degree of influence on events. The first game was followed by several sequels, the last of which was presented in 2014 and, in fact, became a complete reboot of the series. In this game, the events of which take place several centuries later, the gameplay has been rethought, and the main character has to deal with other opponents. Terms of work on the project and a possible rental schedule at the time of this writing were not specified. Note that there are several movies based on popular games in development at large Hollywood studios.
