One of the first movies from Beijing-based Midnight Sun Pictures will be the adaptation of the popular video game "Legend of the Ancient Sword". One of the largest Chinese movie studios, Alibaba Pictures, agreed to invest in the picture. The Legend of the Ancient Sword was released by Shanghai Aurogon in 2010. Its main character is a young warrior Bailey Tusu, who was orphaned as a child after bandits attacked his native village. Obsessed with the desire to find a means to resurrect his mother, he embarks on a journey full of deadly dangers. The game has received several professional awards. Based on it, an animated and fiction series was shot, but a full-length version will be created for the first time. Note also that for the last two years, Rennie Harlin has lived in China.
