Everest director Baltasar Kormakur is working on the thriller Katla, which will focus on the famous Katla volcano in southern Iceland. This is reported by the Variety edition. Increasing seismic activity has been observed near Katla since the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in 2010, the ash from which paralyzed air traffic over Europe for several days. Cormakur, who created Katla, will remove at least a pilot episode and will executive produce. The director announced that he intends to use the same model in the work on the series as in "Trap", on which aspiring directors from Iceland and not only worked on it.
