NCIS: Special Department is back. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has extended the procedure for two more seasons.

The renewal coincides with the signing of a new two-year contract between the network and the star and the series' executive producer, Mark Herman. The series, renewed for seasons 14 and 15, will air through 2018 and it is unclear if season 15 will be the final.

In addition to serving on the original series, Harmon is the executive producer of the NCIS spin-off: New Orleans "with showrunner Gary Glasberg. In addition to New Orleans, Marine Police: Special Department has another spin-off – "NCIS: Los Angeles".

Recall that season 13 will be the last for series star Michael Weatherly, who has starred in the show since its inception. After the 11th season, the fan favorite Cote de Pablo left the show. Sean Murray, Pauley Perrett, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham and David McCallum are leading roles in the co-production series by Belisarius Productions and CBS Television Studios.

This is not the first time CBS has extended its show for several seasons - in 2014, the network ordered the production of three new seasons of the comedy "The Big Bang Theory" at once.
