Bobby Morse and Lance Hunter will be key players in the SHIELD spin-off

Actors from the main cast of the second season of the series "SHIELD" Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood have been confirmed for the lead roles in a potential spin-off for the ABC series. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing its sources.

Paliki, who plays Bobby Morse / Mockingbird, joined the second season of SHIELD as a guest star, but quickly received the status of a regular actress. Briton Nick Blood plays the mercenary Lance Hunter. According to the story, Morse and Hunter – ex-husband and wife who have a very affectionate relationship in Marvel Telecom.

SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell (The X-Files) and show writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost ") are developing the project. Although nothing is said about what the new show will focus on, it is expected to be clear by the season 2 finale of SHIELD.

The SHIELD spin-off is one of two projects that ABC and Marvel are considering as potential shows for the next season. The second is a mysterious project by John Ridley ("12 Years a Slave"), described as a new take on an already existing superhero.

There is currently no guarantee that both or one of the potential series will be commissioned for production. While "SHIELD" will probably return for a third season, the fate of the sequel to Agent Carter has yet to be decided.
