The Japanese company Toho, which gave the world cinema one of the most popular monsters - Godzilla, announced the date of the premiere of the next movie on this topic. According to Variety, the movie, titled "Shin Gojira", will be unveiled on July 29, 2016.
The moviemakers promised that their Godzilla will be bigger than the monster shown in the 2014 Hollywood version: 118.5 meters versus 108 meters. He will also have more destructive power. The creation of the image of Godzilla was carried out by veterans of Japanese cinema - designer Mahiro Maeda and sculptor Takayuki Takeya. Shinji Higuchi, who directed the full-length Attack on Titan dilogy, is responsible for the project's special effects.
Shin Godzilla will be the first Japanese Godzilla movie in 12 years and the twenty-ninth in a series that began in 1954.
Recall that, in turn, the Hollywood studios Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures intend to continue the development of the franchise, albeit in a very unusual way. It is planned to combine Japanese Godzilla and American King Kong in one movie project. This will happen in 2020. The release of this tape will be preceded by the premiere of King Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla 2 in 2018.
