Ben Affleck is movieing Agatha Christie's play Witness for the Prosecution for FOX. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to performing directorial and production duties, Affleck will play the main role in the movie.

The plot of the work is built around a talented lawyer who undertakes to defend the accused of murder in a completely hopeless trial, which prepares the main character with many surprises. The production team will also include Jennifer Todd and Matt Damon, with whom Affleck has a long-standing friendship.

Note that the first adaptation of the play took place in 1957. Starring Charles Lawton, Elsa Lanchester, Tyrone Power and Marlene Dietrich, the movie, directed by acclaimed Hollywood director Billy Wilder, was a huge success and was nominated for six Academy Awards and five Golden Globes.

Let us also remind you that "Witness for the Prosecution" is not the only promising project of the FOX studio, based on the works of Christie. Earlier it was announced about the studio's intention to movie the novel "Murder on the Orient Express". Kenneth Branagh has been appointed director of this movie.
