The drama "Sobibor", directed by Konstantin Khabensky, will represent USA in the struggle for a place in the "Best Foreign Language Film" nomination of the Oscar 2019. This decision was made by the national "Oscar committee".

The picture was presented to the first viewers in April 2018. It is based on real events and tells about the international uprising of prisoners from Western Europe and Poland in the Nazi death camp Sobibor during the Second World War, which was planned by the captive lieutenant of the Soviet army Alexander Pechersky.
