Fans of the HBO series "Game of Thrones", based on "A Song of Ice and Fire", will have to be patient, as most likely the final season of the show will not be released in 2018, as previously thought. The Hollywood Reporter reports, citing its sources, that the shooting of the eighth season is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2017, and finish in August 2018.

Editing and work on special effects will take some time. Consequently, the release of the season will take place in the first half of 2019. "Our production department is now trying to clarify movieing schedules and estimate the time of creating special effects. Filming is going to be very difficult and will take place on different continents using various technologies. As for special effects, this is generally a separate stage of work," - stated in the commentary by HBO Program Director Casey Blois.

Recall that the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" ended at the end of August 2017. The final episode set a new record for the series for the number of viewers. Note that the project achieved such great success despite a hacker attack on the channel's servers, as a result of which some episodes fell into the hands of malefactors even before their premiere.
